Male Archer Elf

Boys sometimes get the raw end of the stick when it comes to the fantasy genera in art and photography. At least little boys do. There are all kinds of photographers that do fairy photo shoots but they are super feminine which most boys don't want. Not all but most.  Hence this photo shoot.

I made his tunic, quiver and arrows. The pants were his, the bow I purchased online at Black Bear Haversack Trading Post several years ago. The leather gauntlets I purchased from a fellow Etsy shop Iron Woods Shop.

I have plans for a dragon shoot, a Lost Boys shoot and a tribal shoot this year using some of my tribal pieces out of my Etsy shop.

All in all it was a good shoot and everyone was happy. The other masculine shoots coming up, I am  hopefully I can get it all together before fall.

Childlike Empress Cosplay Photo Shoot

I have been wanting to do some cosplay photo shoots and this one was at the top of my list. I had the perfect model for the shoot so I just needed to make her gown and head piece. I also had to figure out the back ground.  I looked for weeks for a digital background but alas, couldn't find anything so I resorted to making my own. Here are the final images:

These images were for my own personal fan art and no monies were made from these images. I was considering doing some with the character Bastion and the Empress together. Maybe after I finish up the next 2 shoots, The Secret of the Kells and Labyrinth.

"Bastion, Call... my... name!"

Let me know what you think! Follow my blog to keep up with the latest photo sessions and behind the scenes looks at how I do my craft and create my images.

Fairy Angst

I am in the process of finishing up a cosplay photo shoot for The Never Ending Story. In the mean time here is a garden fairy costume I created using scraps of vintage fabrics. Every bit of the costume was handmade and it is fully lined. It will be available in my Etsy shop soon.

Here are the final images from the photo shoot of this fairy costume:

Alice In Wonderland

I had this idea. I wanted to create an image of my version of Alice In Wonderland. I originally had 5 characters I wanted to do. Alice, Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter, The White Rabbit and the Queen of Hearts. I wanted to use the same model for each character and do a composite image of all 5 characters in 1 image. So, this is my process...

I have done some basic composite work. Nothing as huge as this though. Being that I do a bunch of costumes for my images and for clients, I knew that part would be easy. I drew out what I saw in my head. I searched Pinterest for inspirational ideas.
It took me a few months to collect and make everything. And over a 3 day time period, and with the help of my mom and my friend Vicki, we got the images! Well, all but 1, The Queen of Hearts. The weather got bad and we didn't get to her. My little model was fantastic! She did such a good job and I couldn't have done it without her.

After setting up the night before to be sure I had everything, the next day we started. 3 full days of shooting gave us this:

You can view a full resolution image on my website www.JenniferGriffinStudios.com and view all of the other images from the session there as well in my Gallery.

Here are a few others from the shoot.

The Cheshire Cat

The Mad Hatter- The Game Is Over

The Mad Hatter- Is It Your Unbirthday Too?

I hope you enjoy these images. Let me know what you think. Follow me here on my blog for updates on up coming shoots like the one I am planning of The Neverending Story and The Secret of the Kells.

Woodland Queen Photo Shoot, June 2016

So, this costume and shoot was a long time coming for me. I had sculpted a wood nymph the year before and I had wanted to recreate her in real life. I did a post about her and how I made her last year. You can find it here. I finally got up the courage to sell her and she sold to a customer in New York. She now has a new home in a mythical garden in New York, NY. But soon after I made her I was inspired to make a costume based on her, mostly a head piece.

These are the images from that inspiration. Model, Charlotte Greaser and makeup artist, Candace Ingram can both be found on Facebook and Instagram.

This outfit and head dress will be for sale in on my website in late July. You will be able to find it here.

New Artwork

Since the last 2 months have been crazy, I have a whole bunch of stuff to catch up on. Like these super cute teacup fairy gardens!

Some other things I have been working on are mixed media pieces and some assemblage pieces. I have several pieces in my head I want to create. However, it is something that I have finished these pieces.

I also have had several photo shoots as well. Recently, I did a photo shoot with sisters. It was so much fun. Their family is fantastic. I'll do a post about the shoot later.

I also attended the Caldera Pagan Music Festival as a vendor for LilyMairi. You can see images from the festival in my post here. There was anticipated to be nearly 4,000 attendees. However, I think because of the holiday weekend it was on, and the fact it was their first year, attendance wasn't that high. I did manage to meet some fantastic artists and spend some time with the hubby without the kids in tow.
